  • The Mexican Consulate in New York is the consular representation for Mexico and is located in the most important city of the American Union. Its staff serves the Mexican community that resides in the states of Connecticut, New Jersey and New York; constituency by consular representation.

    Our function is to protect and defend the rights and interest of Mexicans, as well as assist and advise those compatriots who have suffered abuse or ill treatment related to their work, to authority, putting forth any circumstance that relates to the respect for their human rights.

    Among the various functions of the consulate, it also issues travel and identification documents such as passports, personal possessions, Matrícular Consular and military ID cards. We perform civil unions and registrations for weddings and births; we expedite powers of attorney and wills that may be impacted by national territory.

    Another important function is to support those of foreign origin who wish to move to our country by expediting and issuing visas. It is also our task to promote investment in our country and the exportation of Mexican products.

    This Consulate promotes ties among Mexicans by participating in community development programs promoting the arts and culture of Mexico abroad and seeks to disseminate information that contributes to a better understanding of the national reality and positive image of Mexico.

    Our mission is to serve the Mexican community with the highest standards, quality and efficiency and our commitment that this happens for each of the 600 people that turn directly to this consular representation to solicit help, orientation or various documents for Mexicans and foreigners.
